Picking up where 2012’s Beais$Eros left off, Busdriver’s latest release, Perfect Hair, has all the layered soundscapes, glitchy beats, and intricate arrhythmic phrasing that makes Regan Farquhar’s post rap so engaging. With production by Jeremiah Jae, Great Dane and Mono/Poly and featuring Danny Brown, Aesop Rock, and Pegasus Warning, this is a more accessible effort than previous releases. That’s not to say that Perfect Hair is any less experimental or interesting.
With tracks like “Ego Death,” “When The Tooth-lined Horizon Blinks,” “Eat Death,' and “Colonize The Moon,” Perfect Hair manages to sound like both a renaissance and the apocalypse.
