Linhof Super Technika IV 6x9Linhof Super Technika IV6x9Though most famous for their 4x5Technikas, Linhof has a long tradition of smaller 6x9 TechsTechnika III and IV 6x9's are almostthe same camera. The III's back removes with four latches. The IV'sback removes with a single lever lock, as shown on this camera.
Most were made as a'Super Technika' with the top mounted combinedrangefinder/viewfinder. The same body without the RF/VF and cams areproperly called 'Technika' - without the Super.Generally III's have grey leather, IV's have tan leather as shown.

IV'swere made from 1956 to 1964. These make great shooters, but personally I advisepassing up cameras in not so great shape, unless you are getting a great price.Repairs are likely to be expensive.The Super Technika was manufactured in twoversions, the normal and the 'B' version meant to accommodate the 53Biogon. The cameras are identical except for the finder optics, the normal model beingdesigned for the 65 Angulon and the 'B' version having a wider view toaccommodate the 53. How to tell them apart? Easy; the 'B' version has anengraved 'B' underneath the serial number on the top of the camera.Perhaps the most famous original lens set for these are the Zeiss 53 Biogon, 100 Planarand 180 Sonnar.

On this page here: The Zeiss Planar and Biogon lenses are highly rated and usually sell for quite a bit on their own, so if the price is good and everything else works on it okay it sounds a good deal. Linhof 13x18 No. Appears to have an original back to accept modern holders. I'd love to know the manufacture date. I'm curious because I love this stuff! But also, this is the oldest Linhof I have have by far. Should be in commission soon. Many thanks, Ray.
